The Smart Roster NFC (near field communication) solution uses the latest mobile technology to send care rosters directly to the carers mobile phone, and record homecare visits in real time. This type of system is much more reliable than traditional phone in phone out systems, where the carer has to use the service user’s landline to call a free phone number to record the visit. These images show how easy it is to record a home visit using NFC technology. Simply touch the tag, and the visit is recorded back at the office in real time.
NFC technology works very similar to Bluetooth only over a much shorter distance (around 1cm). The carer arrives at the service users home, touches their mobile phone onto a small conveniently placed electronic tag (normally kept inside the clients care book) and this action then registers in real time the start of the visit. The carer is then free to carry on with their duties, when the domiciliary visit is completed, they simply repeat the action, and this registers the end of the visit.
